The second installment to the Green Series, “The Popcorn Hydrangea of Poppingtom”, is on its way! Written as the sequel to“The Land of Chocolate Cosmos”, this children’s book portrays a land with magical popcorn popping flowers, busy drive in movie lots and a determined, environmentally conscious little boy, named Nicholas.
This poetic tale is sure to keep both adults and children entertainingly educated on the dangers of air pollution as well as empowering children to make key changes in their communities. Illustrated once again by the talented Kevin Coffrey who has contributed animations for “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and Star Wars video games, readers wont be disappointed by the fantastical popcorn world created to teach children about the importance of clean air while keeping tummies tantalized by the buttery popcorn imagery.

With the soon to be released second “green” series book, “The Popcorn Hydrangea of Poppingtom,” The Beantown Tales has realized it’s need for a logo. While logos are an extremely significant marketing factor when brand identifying a product, service and yes, even a children’s book series, it is important to create an image which is both identifiable, memorable and most importantly, appealing to your audience. Once the finished image is complete, this easily identifiable “badge” will be reprinted within book copies as well as the profile for the new facebook page. With these factors in mind, The Beantown Tales has teamed up with a graphic designer to create the perfect artistic representation. One that reflects the author, Suzie Hearl Canale’s, significant “roots” and adoration of Boston, the logo will likely display a skyline of the city with additional symbolic images of beanstalks and story books. After all, what better view could a Bostonian find than the familiarly beautiful scene of our beloved city skyline.

Happy Monday to you,
Again, Kevin is blowing me away with these sketches. Just a small
note, the stick figures will be more developed for the final art. Let
me know what you think and if you have any thing you see that you
would like to see changed let me know. Thanks!
Brad
I love the initial sketches. I especially adore Kevin’s interpretation of the town itself.
